Bhasmasur and modern science

As we all are going through a tough time, life is almost at a standstill. The future is appearing to be very uncertain. You look news and other sources of information, it appears that we are living in an ear which is far unsafe and unstable what it used to be decades back.

I may be sounding a bit negative, but I have my own logic, supporting this. Before I go deep down in my analysis, let me share a story with you form old Hindu mythology.

There was a demon named Bhasmasur, he worshiped Lord Shiva, pleased by his worship and devotion Lord Shiva gave him a boon, that - one on whose head he will place his hand will burn down to ashes. Overwhelmed by his newly acquired powers he tried to burn down lord Shiva so that he can be the only one to have this power. Lord Vishnu had to step in as Mohini (a dancer) to save lord Shiva. Mesmerized by Mohini's beauty & dance, Bhasmasur requested her to teach her dance and while learning dance, he put his hand on his head and die.

This is a story, I am not vouching for its correctness. But it is very apt in describing today's state of affairs.

Leaving the debate aside for while weather the COVID-19 virus got spread as an accident or was a natural calamity, whether it was a planned spread or it just happened. One thing is established beyond doubt, if we would not have advanced technologically so much, this would not have spread so much. With all the modern means of transportation, people would not have traveled so far and wide and this epidemic would not have engulfed almost the entire world. If we would not have technologically, so advanced then there would not have been labs working on virus.

Two examples I would like to quote here are Chernobyl and Fukushima nuclear meltdown, huge loss to life and property. 

Now some of you may say that means we should not make any progress in the field of science and technology? My answer is - yes we must, but our resources should be focused on constructive measures and not on destructive measures. 

World leaders talk about peace, harmony, and coexistence, but they only promote the fight for supremacy leading to the arms race. 

Today I can say this without an iota doubt that we are more or less having the same boom that Bhasmasur had, countries with modern weapons and warheads are all set, its just matter of time when the hand goes overhead and we all are burnt down to ashes.
